About the Miyagawa Dojo
There are some Dojos (different styles) in Karatedo groups. And they hold competitions in various parts of the world to appeal their each principle to the public.
For Karate players,it is very nice that there are various competitions to attend. But when Ⅰsee each competetition,Ⅰ always wonder why “they approve only the same WAZA to get a point in any competitions.”
- At wearing gloves style(attacks to the face by hands are allowed ),they approve almost the same WAZA as Kickboxing.
- At Full Contact style(attacks to the face by hands are not allowed ), they have only five WAZA which are SEIKENDUKI (fore first strike ), SHITADUKI (digging punch),MAEGERI(front kick),MAWASHIGERI (round house kick),HIZAGERI(kneekick)
Ⅰ think we can say things above.
Actually groups that identify themselves as Karate groups hold competitions with advocating those rules.
We ,Miyagawa Dojo think that Boxing and Kickboxing are totally different in origin and Kickboxing and Karate should be different at all. We created“NEW FULLCONTACT KARATEDO”from that point of view. The chief characteristic of NEW FULLCONTACT KARATEDO is below.To allow attacks to the face by hands;
- For boys and girls division, wear a mask called Super Safe protector, fist protector ,and shin guards.
- For adults division, wear a headgear, and Kaisyugata gloves.
Full Contact at which hand techniques to opponents faces are allowed—is the original Karate and can be used in actual fights.
That is what we think.
But we can t bring actual fight to any competitions. It can be helped that we need some more restrictions at all competitions. Then we create NEW FULLCONTACT KARATEDO competitions rules from the point of view. They are the following.
